Food & Wine 2011 Merchandise
The 2011 Food and Wine Festival is coming to EPCOT on September 30th, and as much as I love stuffing my face around the world, I also enjoy picking up some cool merchandise. Here is a peak at some things you will find around the showcase this fall.
The artist for this year’s festival poster is Maryann Schmidt. She will be available to sign her work from 11am-9pm at the Festival Gift Shop located near the Canadian Pavilion boat dock on September 30, October 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30. November 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13.
What Food & Wine Festival would be complete without a cookbook? Have you ever made that Canadian Cheddar Cheese soup? We did last Christmas and it was amazing!!!

I’m not too crazy about the design on this Vinylmation, but it is the very first Food and Wine event Vinylmation… so it will be in my collection.
How about some pins…
This LE pin set really works well in the box with the table drawn in. There are 4 individual pins and it looks like they are seated behind the table. It will be limited to 400 sets and retails for $44.95.
Oh, Pluto is eyeing those skewers like a Disney pin trader looking at a Florida Project trading board. This Mickey and Pluto event pin is LE 2500 but only Annual Passholders can purchase it. It is priced at $10.95.

SeaWorld Orlando Releases Three Green Sea Turtles Back into Their Native Waters
Today three green sea turtles were released back into waters of Florida’s east coast. All three turtles were rehabilitated by SeaWorld Orlando’s animal rescue team.
The first turtle to be released –a quite large, 20-inch turtle– was brought to SeaWorld’s rehabilitation facility in January of this year with pneumonia. Considered a sub-adult, this female green sea turtle was given around-the-clock care by the Park’s turtle specialists. She was released today in Eddy Creek, and the aquarium team has confidence she will do just fine back in the wild.
A turtle that was recently brought to SeaWorld for a shell infection and barnacles also was released today. Barnacles can cause stress and disable the flippers of the turtle. After carefully removing the barnacles, the aquarium team nursed the young turtle’s shell back to health. Turtle specialists are optimistic about the turtles release back into Cape Canaveral.
The day of turtle releases ended with the third green sea turtle which was rescued in December of 2010 for fishing line ingestion, which is a common injury for sea turtles. SeaWorld’s care team aided this turtle back to health by removing the line and monitoring the turtle’s weight until it reached a healthy benchmark. The fastest of the three turtles took off into the waves, which aquarists say is a good sign.
“Today’s release went well, and we’re happy that the turtle’s are fully recovered and are safely back into their natural habitats,” said Dan Conklin, SeaWorld Orlando’s Supervisor of Aquarium.

Predators Come Away Short Against Storm
For the second consecutive week the Orlando Predators fell short against a state rival.
The Predators lost 46-44 on the road to the Tampa Bay Storm in front of 11,151 at St. Pete Times Forum.
With 17 seconds to play Rayshaunstopped Amarri Jackson at the one-yard line on fourth-and-goal to give Orlando possession of the ball. But the clock ran out on the Preds following a 21-yard reception from Nick Hill to T.T. Toliver.
Orlando trailed 39-16 early in the third quarter before getting three straight defensive stops and clawing its way back into the game. Nick Hill connected with Robert Quiroga on an eight-yard touchdown following the first drive of the second half to begin the rally.
The Preds then turned the 13th interception of the season by Kizer into a touchdown pass from Nick Hill to Josh Bush early in the fourth before Toliver scored on a 29-yard pass reception with just over six minutes to play to make it 39-37.
Tampa replied with a touchdown of its own on the ensuing possession to keep the Preds at bay the reminder of the way.
