Raheem Morris in charge of Bucs till 2012
Buccaneers General Manager Mark Dominik confirmed Thursday that head coach Raheem Morris and offensive coordinator Greg Olson would have their options picked up in 2011.
Dominik made a convincing argument for Morris as the NFL’s coach of the year, considering injuries and the rebuilding nature of the team. Tampa Bay didn’t reach the postseason but finished 10-6 and became the first team in NFL history to start at least 10 rookies and still have 10 wins. Olson also merits a reward for the impressive work he’s done in developing Josh Freeman, the NFC’s Offensive Player of the Week in each of the final two games.
Bucs must take control of Lions to keep pace in NFC playoff race
With some help from its last opponent, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers stayed in the playoff hunt. They’ll have to overcome a few more key injuries, though, against a Detroit Lions team mired in the longest road losing streak in NFL history.
