“The Magic, The Memories, and You!” and some extra ‘Love’ thrown in…

From Shawn Slater on the Disney Parks Blog:

Our Creative Entertainment team has another treat in store, just in time for Valentine’s Day! A new show segment is set to debut Feb. 1, inspired by some of the most romantic moments in Disney animation. Cinderella Castle and “it’s a small world” will be covered in red roses for one sequence and turned into a beautiful, star-filled sky for another. During part of the show, spectacular stained glass windows will grace the façades, depicting the stories of Cinderella, Snow White and Belle.

Cinderella Stained Glass Window on the Façades of 'it's a small world' at Disneyland Park and Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park as Part of 'The Magic, The Memories and You!' Snow White Stained Glass Window on the Façades of 'it's a small world' at Disneyland Park and Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park as Part of 'The Magic, The Memories and You!' Beauty & the Beast Stained Glass Window on the Façades of 'it's a small world' at Disneyland Park and Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park as Part of 'The Magic, The Memories and You!' The King and Queen of 'Tangled' Appear in 'The Magic, The Memories and You!' at Disney Parks

One of my favorite moments comes when the king and queen from “Tangled” appear on a balcony, lifting a single lantern to the sky for their missing daughter. It’s soon joined by hundreds of others, creating a magical sight sure to draw “oohs” and “ahhs” from the crowd.

The romance segment is planned to run as part of “The Magic, The Memories and You!” through mid-April

ALL-NEW EPIC ICE SHOW IN THE MOROCCAN PALACE THEATRE

For more than five decades, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has set the industry’s standard for delivering unforgettable entertainment experiences, with Broadway-style stage spectaculars like KaTonga: Musical Tales From the Jungle and innovative ice shows like World Rhythms on Ice. This winter, the park will combine some of the most amazing aspects of its entertainment history and debut its biggest ice show to date: Iceploration takes the stage on Feb. 2, 2012.

Starting February 2, a cast of 20 brings to life an all-new adventure filled with world-class skaters, amazing aerial performances, master puppetry and live animal stars, with shows daily in the Moroccan Palace.

“The grand scale of Iceploration sets a new standard of entertainment that further solidifies Busch Gardens as one of Florida’s premier theme parks,” said Busch Gardens Park President Jim Dean. “This show reintroduces the ice show to our most loyal fans while bringing together the things Busch Gardens stage productions do best: world-class entertainment with top-notch skaters, amazing costumes, original music, larger-than-life puppets and even animal stars.”

Iceploration inspires audiences to “explore the world” on a 30-minute journey to the four corners of the earth. This multi-sensory story, told through theatrical skating and an all-new original score, is the collaboration of an award-winning creative team with Broadway credentials, including Tony Award-winning costume designer Gregg Barnes (The Drowsy Chaperone, Best Costume Design Tony winner 2007; Legally Blonde the Musical, Best Costume Design Tony nominee 2007).

The 30-minute… Continue reading
