2012 Summer Concert Series

Universal Orlando Resort is unveiling even more powerhouse performers that will take the stage at the 2012 Summer Concert Series. Every Saturday night beginning June 9 through July 14, Universal Studio Florida will host one of the hottest concert series around, featuring a star-studded lineup that will appeal to fans of every music genre.

 

This year, music lovers can expect live performances from classic rock to chart-topping country hits, from mainstream hip hop to soulful R&B. Newly announced performers include Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Famer Al Green, who’s recorded timeless hits like “Let’s Stay Together” and “I’m Still in Love with You;” country star Josh Turner, who has topped the U.S. country charts with singles like “All Over Me” and “Why Don’t We Just Dance;” and Grammy award-winning rapper Lupe Fiasco, who has collaborated with other hit-makers like Kanye West, Snoop Dogg and Jay-Z.

 

These new additions join previously announced musical acts, including the cast of Nickelodeon’s hit TV series, “Victorious,” on June 9, and rock bands ZZ Top and 3 Doors Down on June 16. The full Summer Concert Series lineup is below, and the final musical act will be announced at a later date.

Sounds Like Summer Concert Series 2012

Summer just isn’t summer without great tunes. And summer nights mean sizzling entertainment at Epcot Theme Park! During the annual Sounds Like Summer Concert Series, enjoy high-energy performances from some of the world’s greatest tribute bands.

Get the family together and get into the groove with the songs you all know and love. Dance to classic hits and have a toe-tappin’ good time under the skies of the open-air America Gardens Theatre in World Showcase. Times are 5pm, 6:45pm and 8:15 pm.

Universals 2012 Summer Concert Series

This June, Universal Orlando Resort’s 2012 Summer Concert Series will feature a diverse lineup of powerhouse performers, beginning with some of the biggest names in the music business. Orlando’s hottest summer event will kick off with live concerts by the talented cast of Nickelodeon’s hit TV series, “Victorious,” on Sat., June 9, and rock bands ZZ Top and 3 Doors Down on Sat., June 16.  Additional performing acts will be announced at a later date.

Cast of “Victorious” To Perform June 9

The cast of Nickelodeon’s smash hit TV series, “Victorious,” will get the party started at Universal Studios Florida on June 9. Theme park guests will also have the opportunity to preview upcoming episodes and participate in live Q&A sessions with members of the cast.  The event will culminate with an incredible music performance by the entire cast – including Victoria Justice, who plays the show’s main character, Tori Vega.

Currently in its third season, “Victorious” follows teenager Tori Vega as she navigates life at Hollywood Arts, a prestigious performing arts high school.  The show, a co-production with Sony Music, features original songs performed by Victoria Justice and the show’s ensemble cast.  The show’s first soundtrack, “Victorious: Music from the Hit TV Show,” debuted at the no. 5 spot on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart and features the show’s theme song “Make It Shine,” as well as the hit singles “Beggin’ On Your Knees,” “Freak the Freak Out” and “Best Friend’s Brother.”  For the month of March 2012,… Continue reading

SUMMER NIGHTS AT SEAWORLD ENDS AUGUST 14

SUMMER CONCERT SERIES TO SEE BOYS LIKE GIRLS PERFORMING LIVE JULY 9

Universal Orlando Resort’s Summer Concert Series is going to rock this weekend as platinum punk band Boys Like Girls takes the stage at Universal Studios Florida on Saturday, July 9. Originally from Massachusetts, Boys Like Girls has recorded hit singles such as “The Great Escape,” “Love Drunk” and their most recent hit, “Two is Better Than One” featuring country superstar Taylor Swift. The band participated in the first-ever MTV World Stage Live concert held in Malaysia and has toured with other hit acts like Good Charlotte, 3OH!3 and Third Eye Blind. They are currently working on a third album.

 

With a combined total of 30 platinum albums, this year’s concert lineup features artists who have each led the U.S. music charts and continue to be some of the most popular names in music today. The celebration features the most dynamic musical lineup in the event’s history with chart-topping recording artists taking center stage every Saturday night through July 16. Second of Three-Part Summer Spirits Dining Series

Summertime is cause for celebration, and the award-winning Rosen Shingle Creek is helping patrons celebrate good times throughout the summer with its first-ever “Rosen Shingle Creek Summer Spirits Series.” The second in the three-part dining series, “Craft Beer and Gourmet Burgers” takes place Saturday, July 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the hotel’s classic steakhouse, A Land Remembered, and features five courses of burgers grilled to perfection and accompanied by a variety of craft beers.

The series concludes on Saturday, Aug. 13 with “Andiamo Italia” at Cala Bella Italian bistro, featuring six courses of Italian cuisines and wines. Each Summer Spirits event is $55 plus tax and gratuity per person. Guest rooms are available at a discounted rate of $99 plus tax on the night of each dinner only for event guests, based on availability. Universal Orlando Resort’s Summer Concert Series continues this weekend with the smooth R&B sounds of Trey Songz performing live at Universal Studios Florida on Saturday, July 2. With more than two million albums sold in the U.S., Trey Songz has written and performed smash hits like “Can’t Be Friends,” “Love Faces” and the multi-platinum single, “Bottoms Up” featuring Nicki Minaj. BET chronicled his musical career in 2010 in a widely popular, 10-part docu-series titled, “Trey Songz: My Moment,” which gave fans insight into his headlining music tour and the development of his fourth studio album. Named BET’s “Best Male R&B Artist” in 2010, Trey Songz has also collaborated with other chart-topping hip hop artists like Diddy-Dirty Money, Mary J. Blige and Drake.

Laser Light Shows Return to the Orlando Science Center!

Science Center Expands its hours on Friday and Saturday Nights

Laser Light Shows – an annual favorite – return to the Orlando Science Center, beginning Friday, July 1. For a limited engagement, these phantasmal shows will be rocking the Orlando Science Center’s Dr. Phillips CineDome on Friday and Saturday nights this summer

Featuring a lineup of classic jams backed by 28,000 watts of stereo sound and laser effects, laser light shows at the Orlando Science Center have become an Orlando tradition. Get your rock on and then celebrate your inner guitar god with a visit to GUITAR: The Instrument that Rocked the World – a world premiere exhibit that celebrates the guitar and the science of sound! Your laser show ticket gets you access to both!

Every Friday and Saturday Night, July 1 – August 19, 2011 – Orlando Science Center will be extending its hours on Friday and Saturday nights until 10 p.m.

Universal Orlando Resort’s Summer Concert Series continues this weekend with Grammy-award winning hip hop and rap artist Nelly. With more than 21 million albums sold in the United States and more than 20 hit singles, Nelly has been one of the best-selling artists and one of the most influential in the hip hop and rap genre since his solo career debut in 2000. His hits include early classics such as, “Ride Wit Me,” “Hot in Herre,” and “Shake Ya Tailfeather,” as well as his most recent hits “Just a Dream” and “Gone.”

Island Nights at Adventure Island 2011

Enjoy Island Music, Entertainment and Food Three Nights a Week and Play Late Every Night this Summer at Busch Gardens’ Water Park

This summer at Adventure Island, when the sun goes down, the fun heats up during Island Nights. From June 9 to Aug. 13, it’s a vacation from the everyday as Busch Gardens’ water park transforms into a celebration of island life with live music, authentic entertainment and inspiring cuisine.

Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night from 5 to 9 p.m. exotic birds and larger-than-life stilt walkers greet guests, and a steel drum band strolls throughout the park. Family-friendly DJs lead the party with games and music on the beach.

Polynesian dancers and a skilled fire performer captivate guests on the main beach during two shows each event night. And at Duval Street Market, live bands perform a variety of styles, from Latin and beach party music to Reggae. Guests can also sample the tastes of the islands with unique offerings added to the daily menu, such as coconut shrimp and conch fritters, sangria and frozen drinks.
